Bold and Blue -2017 makeup trend and tutorial

Hello Princesses!

There are quite a few new fun trends for the beginning of this new year. I was fascinated in particular by the makeup. There is so much Blue!

Vogue US notes that makeup is going bolder this year.

Vogue JP reports on "rave feeling" colour in makeup.

So princesses, today I am going to show you how to do my regular "Princess makeup"

But instead of using pink as always, I thought I would show you what it looks like in blue.

Tutorial

Today we are going to use the Jesse's Girl Palette

We will be using these three colours

First, start out by priming your eyelids. I use NYX eyeshadow base in White (ESB01). I like this because it really makes any colours I use pop.

I love this white shimmery eyeshadow. Unfortunately, I do not know the name of it, but I got it at Sally's Beauty Supplies.
I take this and apply it all over my eyelids as a base to brighten the next shadows.

Going in with my lightest shade of blue, I apply this over my eyelid up to my brow bone. You want to apply it this high because you want to see the colour.

Using the middle shade of blue, I apply this to my eyelid concentrating towards the outer corner.

Next, I use the darkest blue in the outer corner and on the lower lash line.

Using Sugarpill's lose eyeshadow in Lumi, I use this on the inner 1/3 of my eye to brighten. I used Lumi because it has a nice blue tint to it.

Next, I line my eyes with NYX Supper Skinny Eye Marker. I really love how much control this marker gives me. I like to wing it a bit.

I then apply my favorite mascara, Too Faced's Size Queen.

Lashes next! I use a thick pare of top lashes for my top lashes, and a thiner pare of top lashes for my lower lashes.

Too Faced's lip stick in Unicorn Tears is so pretty! As you can see, it does not turn your lips blue, but has a nice blueish sheen to it. It's a very pretty colour.

Last, I dust NYX Powder Blush in Pinched (PB25) over my cheeks and across my nose giving a nippy feeling to the face.

And that is it! I hope you enjoyed this frosty blue princess look. Let me know what you think! If you tried it, tag me on Instagram (@mochaprincessdoll) so I can check it out!
